24p conversion on 60i

for a skate video, i want the intros for all skaters to be 24p, but the skating itself to be 60i so

i have a vx2000 i shoot all my footage in 60i,

if i put some of it on a 24p timeline to convert it, and then drag that timeline onto a 60i timeline, will the 24p timeline segment be converted to 24p while the rest stays 60i?

Assuming you're using Vegas 6 . . .

If you drop the 60i footage onto a 24p timeline and then export as a 24p AVI -- with 2:3, not 2:3:3:2, pulldown . . .

You can bring that footage into a 60i timeline. It will retain the 24p aesthetic. When you render out as 60i, which you'll have to to keep the 60i look of the other footage, the 24p parts will still look like 24p, even in the 60i format.
