Hi,
Just need to know if I'm doing this correctly...
I'm editing 24p footage (not 24pa) in FCP 5. I know I should capture as DV-NTSC (29.97) and also edit as normal on a 29.97 timeline (this footage is going back out to video). I'm seeing a couple of unusual things, and as this is my first time editing 24p footage, I don't know if it's a problem or it's normal...
In the Viewer, every 5th frame is a duplicate of the 4th, so the pattern is ABCDD. In the timeline, the pattern is ABCDE, where D & E are split-frames (is that the right term?), where you can clearly see the interlacing of 2 different frames/fields.
QUESTION:
Can I really edit "as normal"? Making edits on the "extra" frame (Viewer) or a split-frame (timeline) is worrisome. Will this be a problem? Thanks in advance for any help!
