24p Advanced Exports Dark Image?

I’m exporting 24P advanced (23.976fps) quicktime videos directly from FCP HD and when I play them on my mac the brightness level of the quicktime file looks similar to FCP. But when I copy that file onto CD-R and play it on my PC, the image looks very dark. I’ve tried playing the file with both Quicktime and VLC on my PC, and also tried exporting as an “Mpeg1-web” file using compressor on my mac and I continue seeing a dark image on my PC. I’m suspecting this may have some relation with the 24P advanced material conversion to quicktime. There could be the issue of monitor differences also, but I don’t understand how all my other videos on my PC look fine. Any info much appreciated.

Thanks,
Alexander

PC's and Macs have different gamma for standard monitors (1.8 Mac, 2.2 PC?). You could compromise and try to set it somewhere inbetween. You can adjust your mac display with the display control panel and see if that get's you closer to the PC look.

I had something like that just happen as well.

I exported a JPG still from the video and it was VERY dark on my PC. I had to put it through photo shop.

What's the deal here???
