Hi all,

Received a FCP self contained 8-bit 4:2:2 file shot 24P adv with framerate of 23.97. I need to use it in a DV 29.97 timeline. I dropped in a DV timeline and rendered it but it doesn't playback through firewire.

What do I need to do to convert this? I did a search and didn't seem to come up with anything.

If the answer is compressor, what do I set it at?

Thanks for any help.

Why do you need it in a 29.97 timeline? The quickest way would be put it in a 24p timeline, render to DV, then play out to DV firewire and record. Then recapture that recording at 29.97.

Hi Noah,

The reason I need it in a 29.97 timeline is that I'm inter cutting the footage with an interview that ultimately needs to be DV 29.97.

I did attempt to run it through compressor and was able to convert it to Quicktime file at DV rez and I set it to 29.97 but the clip info shows up as 23.97 and FCP quits whenever I try to play it.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

P.S. I'm trying your suggestion. It is now viewable through firewire. Unfortunately it's a 25gb file. Saying two hours to render. I guess that means lunch. I'll report back.

P.S.S.-Noah, your suggestioned work fine. Thanks.
