24p-a and 29.7 in same time line?

Hi-

After reading many of the posts on this topic
and seeing what should have been done
(shooting in 24p not 24pA)
i am wondering if there is some remedy for the situation...

I am editing a piece where there is footage in both 29.97 ntsc and 24p advance.
is there any way to not sacrifice the resolution of either
while having them both in the same time line?

I tried capturing the 24a with out the pull down,
and putting it in a 29.97 timeline
and it looks compromised.

I also tried conforming the 24a in cinema tools to 29.97.... pretty crappy.
at least as much as when I drop the 24a footage with pull down
into a 29.97 timeline

when i capture the 24pa with pulldown and put it in a 23.9 time line,
it's looks great.... but then the 29.97 footage drops frames and looks, well, crappy.

(especially as this is a dance piece and there is much movement).

this also worries me as i have another project which will be using both
24p advance and older "frame mode" canon footage.

is there any way to make these two frame rates work together
in one time line?

any help would be great!
thanks much for insight!
