I'm trying to make the jump to editing 24 frames per second. I want to make sure that I understand any of the allowances that have to be made or any adjustments that have to be made.
I think I understand that 29.97 fps video that is shot as 24p advanced will be inverse telecined in Vegas down to 23.976 frames per second and not 24 frames per second. I understand that Vegas will allow you to edit at 23.976 fps so that the sound will not change pitch and everything will play as expected.
Now, if I plan to make DVD's from my 23.976fps project I don't think there will be a problem since DVD players will do the 3:2 pulldown on the fly to create a 29.97fps NTSC complient video. Question: The DVD player can do the 3:2 pulldown but is it expecting 24fps data instead of 23.976fps.
If I plan on rendering the 23.976fps project to film then I believe that there is something I must do to make it play accurately at 24 frames per second. I'm not sure what I must do. I think I have to adjust the sound some how???
Does anyone have any thoughts on these two situations?
By the Way, I am James Rogers. I do special make-up effects and some digital imaging. My website is: www.clipboardvideo.com. If anyone needs advise or help with the kinds of effects that I do then let me know. It's all about helping each other....
