24p 2 DVD outputting PROBLEM FCEHD

Hi, I really, really need some help here. I use Final Cut Express HD. I just last week bought the DVX100A. I traded in a HDV cam for it. I'm pretty new to all of this stuff. I need to output my standard 24p footage to DVD using Final Cut Express HD. I tried it a few times with horrific results. I need to be able to watch the footage on a standard interlaced television. When I outputted a few times the footage looked so stuttery and jittery it was hard to look at. Then I tried another way of doing it and finally the footage's motion looked much better, but, now the whole picture looked weird. Like a mosaic looking almost. With the pixels all large and weird. Can someone please tell me how to output my 24p footage correctly to DVD so I can watch it on an interlaced television??? please, please, please??? LOL

I can't figure out how you all make these movies using this camera and have them look so great. I just can't figure it out. I was told, actually, guaranteed I could use Final Cut Express to edit my 24p footage with however it does it. 29.97 I believe? and then output it onto dvd and have it look like it looks when I hook the DVX straight to my television with audio/video cables. But, I just can't figure out how to do that. Please if anyone knows anything, I'd appreciate it so much you have no idea.......THanks in advance.

FCE does only 29.97 which is fine IF you shoot 24p (F5) settings or any standard setting except f6.
I don't use FCE but you should be able to export directly to iDVD and burn a 29.97 DVD as with anything else. Set quality level for the highest, 60 minutes. Final results should be reasonably compariable to the original from the camera (it will have gone through more compression to make it to DVD)
If you're doing major color correction you need to get a true video monitor otherwise you could be setting wrong color/contrast.

Thanks Scott. I've actually been using Roxio's Toast because I didn't want to deal with all those chapter markers and titles and all those templates and stuff. With Toast I can just drop it in and burn the DVD. The Quicktime files look just like they're supposed too. Which is pretty great looking. But, when I burn the QT file to DVD and play it back on my TV. It looks disgusting. Jittery and stuttery and just unwatchable. I think maybe I'm not using the right compression settings or something. Like, I said I'm pretty new to this and with my old Sony HDV cam everything came easy. I didnt have a problem with anything so I really didn't have to learn all this 'extra' stuff. Any advice would be so greatly appreciated you have no idea. I've been fussing with all this for over a week. Thanks.......

Oh, and bear in mind. I have not used any filters at all. It's a 42 second bunch of clips I whipped together and edited a bit. But that's it...
