245PA pulldown is not being removed

All my footage has been shot at 24PA but some of the tapes that i am digitizing do not get their pulldown removed.

My easy set up is set to: DV - NTSC
Audio video setttings, capture preset is set to: DV NTSC Advanced Pulldown

What's random is that some of the footage off the tape came in proplerly and some of it didn't. These are clips from the same interview, nothing has changed.

Any thoughts?

You are NOT going crazy.

This is a bug (I don't use this term lightly). I've seen it with v4.5 and v5 -- BUT are you sure you are using all the latest updates? I'd hate to have you change stuff now, but what is your current setup?

I'm current on everything and haven't had this happen since. Not saying it WON'T -- but just hasn't.

The work around is to remove the cadence once you've logged it into your browser. It'll work fine.

I really don't know what the cause is. My only other suggestion would be to log the clip and capture points prior to start and stop of the recording. Somehow FCP is being confused by these cadences going on and off.

I'm running FCP 5 and do have 5.1 but am not using it as all the systems at my work have not yet been upgraded.

You're right, i have been pulling my hair out with this one. How do i remove the cadence after the fact exactly?

Thanks for your help!

Under Tools there is a "Remove Advanced Pulldown" Command. If that doesn't work, open the clip into Cinema Tools and Reverse Telecine, or you can also try recapturing.

I've tried recapturing the file numerous time without any luck...

When i try to use remove advanced pulldown from the tool menu i get this error...

"file name" - file does not contain DVCPRO or DVCPRO-50 NTSC video

I've tried to reverse telecine the file and get this error:

WARNING: One or more media files in your selection cannot be processed...

I'm still at a loss...
