24"+ monitor choice

The most amazing monitor was the Gateway... however do NOT get the Gateway anymore... they replaced some of it's hardware between January and August build dates and the blacks are no longer the same... the new Gateway 24 (same model number and all) now looks like the Dell 24" with that distinctive horribly warm image... side by side the old one and the new one are like night and day! or I should say heaven and hell (red)... lol...

If you can score an older Gateway from Ebay or else wear I believe they rival the Apple LCDs! I have not yet seen them side by side but the screen is the same and they didn't (used to) skimp on the hardware. Used to be EXCELLENT blacks!

No HDMI though, but it should be significantly cheaper used especially now that the same (but crappier) 24" is selling for $400 under the same product code. You do have two sets of composite and a 1:1 aspect.

Again, only consider if it you get lucky enough to score one built before January 2007 they you can be sure about what you are getting.
 
Yes, but remember to get one with a build date before January 2007... the owner should easily find it in the tag in the back by the connections. Good luck finding one.
