24 Frames on FCP

I apologize first off if this question has been asked already, I've searched the FCP forum and haven't found what i was looking for.

Is there any way with just FCP that i can export DV film to 24 fps? If not, are there any free programs that will do that for me?

I just did a large project for the local relay for life, and i want it to look more professional, less like video. Thanks everyone, for your help.

If you've shot your DV footage in 24p/pa mode and edited in 23.98fps Timeline on FCP, you could just export it with "current frame rate setting" to a QuickTime file.

If you're looking for a solution to imitate the "film look," and if you are writing from FCP to a mini-DV tape, you don't need to worry about how to write onto a tape as 23.98fps. Like mentioned above, DV tape doesn't take any other frame rate than 29.97fps. That's the nature of NTSC DV format.
Instead, you could remove the pull-down from your source video by either on FCP (in case of 2:3:3:2 24pA pull-down), or on CinemaTool (in case of 3:2 24p pull-down). This will transform your 29.97 source video to 23.98 so that you can make precise cuts while editing. Then, you can apply either of those pull-down methods when your editing is done in order to write onto a mini-DV tape.
Although you think it will have the video look because of the framerate, it actually carries on the 24p film look that you are looking for.

Two methods, depending on what you have and want to achieve.

First up, get the plug-in from Graeme Nattress-
http://www.nattress.com/Products/filmeffects/filmeffects.htm
This will make your NTSC footage look like 24p. Not as clean as shooting in real 24p, but the next best thing.

Second up, if you have 60i footage in a 60i Sequence and want to output to a 24p format, that's pretty easy. Create a new Sequence with the 24p format you want to output. Drop your existing Seqeunce into it. Render. Export.
