23.98 to 24

I shot my project in 24pAdvanced and edited using Final Cut's 23.98 preset (with the 2:3:3:2 advanced pulldown removal). This defaults all sequence settings to "23.98," which is what all captured clips are listed as as well. Meanwhile upon completion of my cut I discovered that there is no setting for a 23.98 timecode window burn, only 24fps. And furthermore Pro Tools does not handle 23.98, only 24fps. So, basically after trial and error I've created a 24fps sequence and copied and pasted my entire edit to that sequence. I'll then export as 24fps (w/ a window burn that does Now match the actual timecode of the file). My only question is this -- have I altered the video in any way? It's hard to tell a difference but I wanted to make sure. Essentially I've taken 23.98 clips and converted them to 24fps. Just wanted to make sure that I wasn't going to see a quality difference down the road or if I lay back to HD cam or Digi Beta as the final format for the video. THANKS...

Should have tried to do some more . . .

Sorry. Just playing on your thread title.

To answer the question -- don't sweat it. The worst it could be would be a generational loss, and that's not much.
