23.95 and 29.97 in one timeline?

I was shooting some outdoor BBQ snowboarding footage with some friends, and halfway through the night someone (drunken me?) flipped from F5 to F6. Now I've got all this footage at two various frame rates.

What can I do to use all the footage in one timeline without interlacing?
Edit the 23.97 half first, export in 29? Then edit a new project at 29?
Never had to worry about this, any input would be great.

They're both the same frame rate, 29.97. You can edit both in either a 29.97 timeline or a 23.976 timeline. This is assuming you have Premiere Pro 2.0. If you are using 1.5 then I would take the disc outside and light it on fire.

You should start editing in Canopus Edius 4.03 and totally forget about 23.97/29.97 problems. You can work with them on the same timeline (just like with alot of other formats as MOV, MPEG, VOB etc...) in RT. No render or anything else needed.

..id work on 29 timeline..current projec ti'm wokring is 29 timeline eventho my footage is 95% 24p

why didnt u msn me and asked....hahaha noob

No time, I was rushing out the door and figure'd I'd post and have a few answers by the time I got back.

as long as you don't capture it with advance pulldown you can still throw it on 29.97 timeline......

I'm sorry but can you please stop telling everyone this on this forum. It is starting to get me a bit aggravated. And another thing, I've been editing on professional based videos for a while and I've never heard of this Canopus Edius, I meen it would be different if you were telling people to edit with final cut or premiere or vegas, but what your saying is like telling people to work with some random program like "Microcell Video producer Pro 1.43".

And to answer your question both 24p and 24pA are both recorded as 29.97(60i) on tape.

I may have done something wrong the other day, but I tried putting some 29.97 footage on a 23.976 timeline (remove pulldown checked in a 24P project) and the footage that is 29.97 won't play. I get random images, some of the first few frames interspersed with wherever I am in the timeline of the shot.

Aside from that, what about the motion if I'm editing 24P footage in 29.97, it doesn't look right. How do I handle that?

Actually, thinking about this a little more, I realize I had captured a section of tape where I had STARTED in 29.97 accidentally, then switched to 24P in the next shot. The handles of the capture window made it capture some of the 29.97 footage along with the 24P shot. So I'm going to have to try this again to see how it looks.

If your program lets you automatically seperate clips when capturing let it do that. I used to not and it would constantly **** up my footage because of that reason.
