Does anyone know when this is supposed to come out in the US? I am on pins and needles, and can't get jack from the official site except some purdy pictures oooh.
2046 is the new Wong Kar Wai film ( In The Mood For Love, Days of Being Wild, Chungking Express).
This movie is supposed to have a somewhat Sci fi Story. I know very little about it. Though it does have an awesome cast. : Tony Leung, Zhang Ziyi, Faye Wong, Takeshi Kaneshiro, Maggie Cheung.
Wong's Usual DP the Phenomenal Chris Doyle shot it
if you like won kar wai's movies, you'll certainly like 2046.
Watching a won kar wai movie is always an experience but not necessary a good experience.
In 2046, you will find all the wkw's ingredients : Great photo, Great music, Beautiful and Great Actresses, Great Actors and all the fetish stuff coming with his work (smoking girls, slow/fast time lapse, ect)
2046 is not my favorite but I liked a lot of small part. Enough to make my "own" film. With 2046, you have the final cut in your hand.
Sounds up my alley!!
I have heard from others that they were let down by it Which I hope will at least lessen the WKW hype a bit.
Just curious hvpz, but did you see it in a theatrical run in France? I am trying to figure out
when it will screen in the US.

Yes, I saw it in a theater in Paris. The first screening in france was the 20th october 2004.
2046 is still in 2 theaters in Paris even if compared to "in the mood for love" it's not a success.
"In the mood for love" made more than 1 million of tickets in france.
Thanks for the sites. Iwas trying to hold off on bying a DVD until I had seen it in the theater. I may just give in though.
For those who liked In The Mood For Love, they may want to check out Days of Being Wild.
