How's Tilta on C/S?

Ikan now sells a number of their products, but I don't think all of them. I got into them in 2012 when they came out with a VCT shoulder mount baseplate. You could order direct from them, though you were ordering through e-mail (which, for 2012, come on...), but shipping was really expensive. I was about to order some stuff and then they sent me over to someone at Switronix as their US contact.

They sent me to "Team Tilta" which was an online store, but you needed an invite to create a username & then order from them. It was, different, but they were US based & it worked. Then Team Tilta was always out of stock and then over night they just disappeared.

I e-mailed Tilta again & they said they had nothing to do with Team Tilta & sent me over to Intelly Tech USA, which must of been short lived, because not long after ikan started selling a limited product catalogue of Tilta direct & through places like B&H Photo.

So in short, their customer service (in '12 / '13) left a lot to be desired. If you can order a Tilta Gravity through ikan, then at least ikan is a solid company.

They're opening up a service center in Burbank. I got to check out a gravity flying an F55 w/ AXS-r5, a Sony cinealta lens, and a 75w olivine battery. The batteries for the gimbal weren't fully charged, the unit was balanced, but not calibrated, but it fit on the gravity. I'd like to see what it could do when properly setup. They hope to get the center in Burbank up and running for CineGear.

Setup seemed pretty straightforward. I would imagine once you got it dialed in for your camera and lens combo, it might take 10 minutes for initial build and under 5 for lens changes and what not. I'm seriously thinking int of getting one.

I think you can use freefly mimic on every gimbal, just use receiver you get with mimic. I will try it with Ronin as soon as i get free time, but i don't see a reason why it wouldn't work...
