Hi everyone, Im wondering what options i have in the $200-300 dollar price range with regards to a mattebox. I'm not very concerned about a Rotatable filter stage right now, so static filters would be fine. Also, I'm hoping for one with french flags, and is rail-mountable. I only know of the Hyson Films one (the HD mattebox) in this price range, but they appear to be off for a few weeks. Anybody know any other competitors in this price range?

EDIT: also, whats the difference between a normal hard mattebox, and a bellows system?

MalcolmOng,

I've got a Hysonfilms mattebox I may be selling - too bad to see Joel offline, he's not had a great past year. I hope everything is okay -

as for the mattebox, how soon are you looking ? I'm waiting for another option to become available - should know soon

Your only other alternatives are the Indiesnap and the Geardear (that I know of) and both of those don't compare to the Hysonfilms one IMO - obviously you'll gain a bit more flexibility with the $500+ ones but for under $300, I have to say Joel's work is really spectacular.
