2 questions regarding DVD Studio Pro 4

Well, since Encore CS3 doesn't want to play nice, I've rebuilt my project in DSP4. all is well except two things....

1. Somehow I ended up with very small thumbnail previews next to my buttons on the main menu. I want these gone. Since I have no idea how they got there, I have no idea how to get rid of them.
To elaborate, next to "play" is the small square that shows the video that will roll if you press play, and next to "chapters" is a preview of the chapters menu. kind of an eyesore.....

2. the menu is in a Letterboxed format( the content is not though), but the top and bottom of the screen that should be black is this awful looking grey. is there a way to change this?

1- highlight the thumbnail, and in the inspector (lower right pane) there's a selection for assets. Click none or some kind of button/ shape.

2- Sounds like your background image is not the proper aspect ratio. That's an area I haven't quite figured out yet, but something that's 720x480 (or proportional) should work, or at least get close. I found the right size through trial and error, but don't remember what it was.
