2 Foot DIY Fluorescent fixtures?

I know there are a lot of posts here covering the DIY Kino lighting route...and I've scoured them all. Thing is, they all seem to be centered around 4 foot light fixtures (using the big shop lights).

What I need is a 2 foot 2 light fixture, and it seems that all the fixtures I've run across with electronic ballasts are 4 foot fixtures. The only 2 foot 2 lights I've seen are either magnetic ballasts, or made for T8 bulbs.

Just wondering if anyone here could point me to a good link for a 2 foot 2 light fixture using an electronic ballast.

Or, as a side question, would I be alright going with a magnetic ballast? It seems that the opinion is pretty much unanimous that electronic is the way to go....

Ideally, I want a 2 foot 2 light T12 fixture with an electronic ballast.
Any ideas?

Thanks.

I suppose I should have said I would prefer T12 lamps to the T8 lamps...
the only reason was because of availability and cost.

The T12 lamps are much more common, and less expensive for daylight balanced bulbs.

The Kino Foto-Flo fixtures use T12 lamps, of course those are 4 feet long.

I've been doing some searching online and while you may be right that the biax lamps may be a better idea (as you can go up to 55w with them) I haven't been able to find a decent 2 light 2 foot fixture for those either.

The main reason I'm stuck on 2 feet is because of the ease of storage and transport.
I just don't want to lug around a couple of 4 foot fixtures with me, when I could just as easily take two 2 foot fixtures.

Any ideas?
