2 cameras, 2 different colors in footage. Now what?

I'm trying to make a short promo video for a local music group. I have some intreviews, sound clips and video footage. I shot the video with 2 different cameras. My DVX-100 and My GS-500. I manually set the white balance on both cameras to the same white board before shooting.

After downloading the footage, I'm really dissapointed in drastic difference between the colors from the two cameras.

Please look at this 50 sec clip. http://vimeo.com/4547920

You'll see the 2 camera angles. Is the corresponding color shift as painful as I think it is?

My NLE is Pinnacle Studio..and it has a variet of color correction tools..I tried playing with them but really didn't make any progress as I'm kinda shooting in the dark. I have no idea what I'm doing and just tried different settings.

This video will ultimately be streamed from a promo web page. and is intended for the web only.

Once I figure out how to deal with the contrast between the 2 cameras...then I'll add some voice overs, interviews and more footage of the musicians doing silly and wacky stuff.

Anyway...what are you're thoughts?

Sincere Thanks, Rob

If ya can't hide it, accentuate it.
In other words, try some more to match the cameras. If you just can't get there, go obvious. Black and white, gran, scratches, ect.

the yellower looking shot seems over exposed. the other angle's colors are much better. either way, this problem is correctable in post using some color correctors.

since you stated you dont really know how to fix it i would suggest you learn some color correcting theory or find someone who can do it for you.

I agree, the 2nd camera looks overexposed and you won't be able to recover the detail in the faces.

Also, it looks like you are scaling up the footage to make it look like you had another camera and to create more dramatic camera moves. This significantly degrades the quality of your footage and can be very noticeable.

In the end, you should ask yourself if the extra cuts (and even the 2nd camera) are really needed in the first place.
