2.4ghz 4gb ram on Windows XP or 7?

My computer is about 3 years old with 4gb of ram and a core 2 quad 2.4ghz. I'm wondering will windows 7 slow me down any compared to windows xp? Any pros or cons going either way? I will be editting on vegas...
