2.35 Matte

Hi,

I would like to create a 2.35 matte (black bars). I am working in a 720x480 (1.2) 16x9 timeline.

If I create a 720x480(1.2) photoshop file where do the black bars go and how big are they?

For a 720x480(1.0) I could just resize a 235x100 image so the width was 720. But this doesn't work with the (1.2) ratio.

Any ideas? Thanks.

here are a couple to work from. created in FCP using the 2:35 matte, then imported into Photoshop for colors and cleanup. The bars are Black 12, 12, 12 and the center frame is 0,0,0. I would imagine you would want to change that around a bit in Photoshop, of course. Hope this helps.

the ones i use are soilid black bars and solid white center. then i just apply a luma key and nix the white.
