2:35:1 Ratio.....

Besides the widescreen Matte feature in FCP HD, is there any plug-in that can squeeze or convert my 1:85:1 footage to the 2:35:1 Ratio? I am making a new Experimental/Art film and I am giving it a Punch Drunk Love vibe to it. :)

Eureka has a widescreen matte plug in that has a 1.85 & a 2.35 matte. It lays on top of your edit so it is not embedded into your footage. Check it out.

mediamilitia-Thanks. I checked it out and saw that the plug-in was 50 dollars!!! Do you know of anything a little cheaper(mabye even free)?

I know that you can do that with the matte given to you on FCP HD. I need one that when i CC the matte does not chage color when i cc the blacks!

Like tigeba says, you are "stacking" your filters in the wrong order. On screen, the widescreen filter should sit BELOW the CC filters. That way, the image is CCed and then the matte applied. It is the same with all filters and is an important rule to know, so remember it.

Just make a matt in photoshop... make it once and use it forever...
then add it as a seperate layer...baam!
then cc to your hearts content.

Gotta wonder how Mike keeps getting on these forums...
I mean, I figured they would block anonymizers and suspect IP addresses...
