2:2:2:4 to 2:3:3:2

Now that my editing project is finished I wish to archive the completed program back to mini DV as both 60i (29.97 fps) and 24PADV (23.98 fps).

I need the 29.97 version for making VHS dubs and iDVD.

I want the 2:3:3:2 version so I can recapture true 24P in the future.

I shot and captured in 24PADV mode.

The timeline is set to 23.98 fps.

The RT pulldown menu in the timeline lists 2:2:2:4 as the pulldown being used. Is that the correct cadence?

In order to get a 60i version I understand I can just playback the timeline and press record on the camera though I must say that sounds a little flakey.

How do I recreate the advanced pulldown (2:3:3:2) in FCP in oder to archive back to mini DV?

I have not a found a pulldown option in the sequence settings that matches.

Thank you.

(Getting the 24PADV in the computer is a breeze, but getting it out is harder than I imagined)

Re: 2:2:2:4 to 2:3:3:2

Well, here's an update.

I tried Print to Tape and received a warning message that my computer is not fast enough to create 2:3:2:3. I have a dual 533 with 1.2 gigs of ram.

I tried it anyway and after about 11 minutes playback stopped.

I am in deep trouble..........

DVFilm Maker will convert 23.976 into either 3:2
or 2:3:3:2 pulldown NTSC. Works well regardless
what CPU you have.
