Hey everyone, i'm new to the site so forgive me if there is a similar thread laying around somewhere that I missed when searching for it.

I was interested in everyones thought on what are the first things I should do with the camera? I actually am trying to still learn alot of the settings and how to use them so what is the best thing for me to do? Can anyone give me some tip's on some good settings maybe to start out with like some normal indoor outdoor settings or anything.

Thanks for the help everyone and I look foward to being a member of this site.

In this order

1/ Buy Barry Greens book
2/ Turn off all manual settings
3/ Learn to use the whitebalance
4/ Learn how the scene files work so you arent stuck thinking that f5 is 24p mode or f6 is 24pa mode. Every scene file can be whatever you choose it to be.
5/ Use the camera whenever you can so you understand how any manual alterations will effect your image so when it comes time to shoot something seriously you have all the info in your head to get closer to the look you want, and can decide on how to shoot, what will you do to the footage in post and how that will determine how you shoot it also.

Hahaha, well the UV filter lense I have and is the first thing I will do for sure...The soft speaking will be second, and of course the book. Now I need to figure out how to use the damn thing to it's best abilities. I'm sure hanging around here long enough will help me out as well. Thanks for the comments so far.
