Just saw this.
Images are just beautiful. Wait till you get to the video test of these Lens.

A quickie test of the new LEICA SUMMICRON C lenses conducted in L.A. 2013-14.
The stills were taken at the LEICA W. Hollywood store and captured on a Canon EOS 7D PL by HOTROD CAMERAS (special thanks to Illya Friedman). All shots were captured at T-2.0 in existing light @ 5K. My thanks go out to Trevor Owen for allowing me to shoot him in c.u. w/100mm lens!
While the still test was somewhat unscientific they do show outstanding if not superb results. Wide open they give a "creamy" look similar to its "cron m" cousin. Stopped down to a T-4.0 or more these optics offer near "master prime" sharpness. I looked at these on a Zeiss K-8/K-9 bench and saw the raw MTF data.
The Summicron C line have a simpler helical focus mechanism compared to the cam focus system offered in the Summilux C line. I find the BOKEH rendered by the Summicron Cs to be absolutely gorgeous!
The second part of the test was executed in 35mm film on a run and gun. Knowing how sharp these things are, I wanted to see how images looked out of focus. You will see a series of daytime BOKEH expressions, some skin and sharp wides of a street scene. These are superb lenses and are in a league of their own. Think modern retro look with all of the advantages of a 21st century lens design!
• The sharpness indicator chart is by Ivan Putora and was photographed using the following formula: 60 x focal length (in mm) = photographic distance.
• Shot with an Aaton Penelope 2 Perf 35mm on Eastman 5207 Vision 3 stock @ ISO 250 (developed N=0)
• The film material was transferred @ full aperture on a Spirit scanner and edited in uncompressed YUV 1080P24

My jaw just hit the floor. Those lenses are very good. But...Damn, that 2-perf, yes 2-perf 5207 is effing beautiful. Holy hell that color and dynamic range with beautiful grain and sharpness. All this and then I remember that 2-perf is the very bottom of Super 35 quality. Can someone please remind me why we don't shoot everything on film???

Oh yeah it's the $$$. I can lie to myself, but I can't seriously make any other argument against it.
