1st Person POV

Need to film a few scripted shots from a 1st person perspective. I'll need it to show both hands. I wanted to run the following setup by some people here to see if there is a better method than I'm describing:

I plan to mount a small form factor camera to a helmet and rig it so that it drops in front to about eye level and a few inches out. Still trying to ficugre out how to mount it, I have a flex arm and a super clamp but not sure if that's enough.

I plan to use a camera with really good image stablization with an image stabalized lens. Perhaps an A7S II or A9. (are there cameras with better IS?). Really just looking to get rid of those microvibrations and smooth it out a little, it shouldln't look like steadicam/gimbal footage.

Any other tips/tricks people can recommend to sell the first person more?

You will need a counter mass on the back of the helmet.

It gets heavy fast (with a gh4) - I would not want to run/jump with such a rig.
Also the talent may need direction to move thier head slowly!

A friend of mine built one of these exact helmet rigs. He looked up videos on YouTube and followed different instructions that he found online. But essentially he mounted a ball head to the front of a motorcycle helmet and added small weights on the back to counter, as Morgan mentioned.

It works really really well and I think he made it for under $100 total.
