Hi guys, posting for a friend I'm helping out. Please pm me if you want to bring your equipment and be a part:

We are calling on all 35 mm film adapter owners and operators within the Los Angeles area. If you own and or operate the following you should read this all the way through to the end. Technical experts to help run the test are also wanted.

When it comes to a 35 mm film adapters there are many questions that everyone is having. There are many claims as light loss, vignetting, ease of use, price over value, and so on. We want to put a rest to our questions here and now. This will be a fair test and the goal is not to bad mouth any of the manufacturers, but to see where each excels and how the user can get the most out of each product. Experience wanted with the following adapters:

SG PRO
RED ROCK MICRO
LETUS 35
BREVIS
P+S TECNIK
G35
or any other adapter available

If you have a different 35 mm film adapter that will connect to an HVX-200 please feel free to join us. Even if it is a prototype or custom made. This is a full test project.

We are shooting all of our tests with an HVX-200 and only an HVX-200 because that is what most of us own and operate. I am very sorry if you shoot with another camera, I fully respect that but I am making this test with the HVX-200 and only an HVX-200.

We will be shooting in a real life situations, and do various tests, some low light, exteriors, interiors lit professionally. We have full access to a small shooting studio. In Westlake, Thousand Oaks Ca. 35min north of Hollywood right off the 101 freeway, unless somebody proposes a better location.

I will provide 1 HVX-200 and a Cinevate Brevis film adapter, the location, models, a couple of computers with, scopes, a 7inch marshall preview monitor, apple laptop for downloading test footage some P2 cards, lights, professional DP, ONLOCATION AKA HD RACK, some snacks some food and drinks.

We will also have a few computers allowing us to connect via FW to let us see the scopes and clarity on huge monitors and use various monitoring software.

The lenses we will be primarily testing with are Nikons, because that is what the majority of the field is using and that is what we own. If you have other lenses feel free to bring them as we would like to compare and contrast what other lenses can offer. Zeiss, PL mount lenses, Canons, etc.

This is not a gig this is a test between working operators and owners. We are not paying you for this test, we are going to share all the info with one another.

The advantages are we will together go through this crazy test, and come up with our own results and stop depending on blogs and internet footage. Our goal is for all of us to improve our packages and share the wealth of information.

Get back to me with your information and we will communicate a good date to do such a test. We are looking at making this test date somewhere between the days of July 30th- and - August 13th, but we will possibly push back the project depending on the scope of this test.

I will review everyone's availability and try to make this on a date that will accommodate the most of us, weekend or weekday.

If you are a sales rep for the following adapters please feel free to show up also and show us what you have to offer I am open to suggestions.

You are only invited if you own the adapter or have one to provide this day. We cannot cater to any extra people we are sorry this is a serious test for users/owner/operators. We will eventually build a website for all to see. Technical camera experts with testing experience are wanted as well to help oversee the process.

Be sure to leave your contact info and what equipment you will be providing.
We will email one another locations and how the tests will be conducted.

In your reply heading please be sure to put:

Since so much effort is put into co-ordinating the test, you might as well include the Canon XH-A1 as a lot of people also use this camera. Not including it would be a mistake IMO.

Thanks.

Thanks.

Hi guys, we might consider a couple of other cameras but for now our group is mostly focused on the hvx.

I'll run it by the other guys involved.

hi leon,i myself own the canon a1 and i'm sure a whole lot of other users here do as well,so my concern with these test would be how you would gauge a consistent test based on one particular camera, when different 1/3 chip cameras respnond differently to the same adapters in terms of vignetting and light loss.example,i previously owned a hd red rock which i fitted to my a1,and the vignetting was more pronounced on that cameras lens then was the hvx.so with all do respect to your testing what you come up with may not necessarily be the same for someone else who endeavers to own one of these adapters.so i guess you should edit your post to read a test to see how each adapter reponds to the hvx and not base a finding on one particular camera.
