Hi, I really need help with the following:

(As in the title of this post) We want to output to 4 big 42" LCD or plasma screens, most likely the new Sony Bravia X series that support 1080p.
We will use a linux machine.
Our idea for the configuration would be:

SLI mother board
2x DVI graphics card, both with 2 DVI out ports, both 256mb ram
1GB ram
160GB hard drive

Please let me know what CPU we would need, how much ram, what kind of motherboard...?

Also, we were thinking of either h.264 or VC-1 encoding of the video since we will send files via the internet on a regular basis.

What would be the optimum data rate to remain visually losless on 42" screens at 1920x1080p?

And what would the file size be of a one-minute 1080p video?

Good point. No I have not. If anyone has suggestions for SLI video cards that run on Linux, let me know. A quick search came up with Linux support for NVidia 7300GT and all 7 series. That is, it is listed as compatible. http://www.nvidia.com/object/7_series_techspecs.html
Although I would like to find out which cards will do the best job for HDTV playback according to the process outlined in my first post
