16x9 - setup with 2 cams - wideangle and anamorphic adapter

I have a question to the perfect setup. I am getting more equipment in the spring (expecting a larger grant next month) and I think I am opting for the wideangle lens and the anamorphic adapter.

Since I am planning some film projects I am considering a second DVX... And my funds are not unlimited, I would like to ask this:

If I film with one DVX100 with the anamorphic adapter as my main camera and use a backup DVX100 (extra shots, more material, backup etc) how would it be if I used the squeeze mode for the second one. Would the shots intermingle or will it be too apparant / different?

I thought I would get one anamorphic adapter and one wideangle lens to save money.

So the question really is if squeeze mode intermingle well with real anamorphic shots.

On the other hand I would love to know what people think of using squeeze mode for the wideangle lens? Since the 16x9 adapter I will buy does not go well with the wideangle lens I will have to squeeze or cut in post. I believe squeeze is better.

Any thoughts of a 2 camera setup with ONE anamorphic adapter and one with/without wideangle lens would be appreciated.

All the best,

Depends on how big a screen you'll be presenting it on. On a 13" TV I doubt anyone would ever be able to tell the difference. On a 20' movie screen there'll be a significant difference.

But frankly, I think you'll be fine; squeeze works pretty well.

Thanks Barry!! Always there with great responses, thanks!

I was thinking about producing for the big screen...
Great if I can do with just one anamorphic adapter..

If squeeze work pretty well then I should be fine when I intermingle the footage from the anamorphic adapter and the squeezed one.

By the way just read the review right now of the DVX100b ... I like the way you can set up the LCD to view 16:9, as to get the right idea of how things look when using the anamorphic adapter or when using squeeze. That's one cool and nifty feature. I wish I had a DVX100b now ...

If I get another one I will definitely get the b version...
