16gb card did not work in new hvx200

i was on a shoot where the d.p. was struggling with the operation of the camera. he was not able to get the camera to recognize the 16gb card. the camera was just purchased. he went to the panasonic web-site and the serial number was compatible with the 16gb card. i don't know how he had the camera configured exactly, but does anyone have any idea why this happened?

You get to visit the Panasonic website that looks like a 2 year old on crack designed and find the firmware update for the HVX.

Then you must create the file structure in this post (3rd post down)

I would not go by the fact that the camera's purchase or manufacturing date -- check the firmware version in the camera, it should be V4.05 or later (V4.06 is available).
