16:9 squeeze to Sorenson 3??

Hello all,
I have recently read all the posts on this subject and found nothing to help me. I am exporting 16:9 squeeze mode to Sorneson 3. No matter what setting I am putting into the export, I keep getting a 4:3 squished image. I have tried conforming the footage to 16:9 1.2, and I have also tried manually setting a 16:9 ratio to the dimensions of the export. I captured widescreen as well. Can someone help?

Bump, I am still in need of knowledge. Can someone let me know how they export from premiere to get the best widescreen movie?

Sorry, can't help you myself and it appears that no one here has experience with that compressor either. For 16:9 output, I use either mpeg2 for a DVD or WM encoder and those work fine. My understanding is that the player has to recognize and properly display the pixel aspect ratio so are you sure the problem is not with whatever player you are viewing the result with?

You might find more help over at the Adobe support forums. I believe there's a sub-forum under Premiere Pro that specifically deals with compression and encoding.

If you are intending to make an anamorphic (widescreen) DVD, then why not use the Adobe Media Encoder within PP to do the MPEG encoding. Just make certain that you footage has a PAR of 1.2:1 and choose either a 12 or 15 frame GOP (I typically use a 12 frame GOP for 23.976 material). What program are you using to author your DVD?
