Just to add, the mattebox allows two 4x4 filters in holders. And also with testing I have no vignetting on a regular tv, and just a little bit in the lower right corner when checked with computer in the capture now window in FCP. Thats about as good as it gets with 4x4 filters and this lens.
Added: Also, I don't have to zoom in to 6, like the chrosziel, i'm full wide.
As far as plans go, there are none. What I used was aluminium, and 1/4" abs plastic. The filter stages are cavision. If you want to build one I suggest logging onto the Chroisziel website, they publish all the specs for their MB's, ie: depth of shade, and width. With those numbers trace out the dimensions on matte board, make prototype first then if all works out buy the plastics and metal, and take it to town. You might need other things like a drill press and some other hand tools, but those are a minor cost consideration. Good luck.
Sure you don't wanna build one for sell, I don't know what it would be worth to you but I am really interested, I like the look of it. I know that is kinda lazy, but I currently with school and my company do not have time or the equipment to build one.
Yes, I had to shave the lens shade of the anamorphic lens. As it stands right now there are no plans, I never draw up plans, I just like to build.
The follow focus is from Cavision, it works with out modification. Since there seems to be some interest in this box, i've decided to start making them for sale. If anyone is still interested(goober542) pm me and we will talk.
