I'm shooting a trailer for a video/film and i wanted it to be all on widescreen. What are the presets on a dvx100 to shoot 16:9 in camera? I plan on unsqueezing it in FCP HD.

well i have a dvx100 and i shot 'letterbox'. do i use an anamorphic timeline in fcp hd?

You probably have to crop if you want to do that. Post in the FCP section . . .

Re: 16:9 in camera 'widescreen'

if you've already shot in letterbox, then just use the footage as you would as a regular 4:3 sequence. if you're making a trailer for the net, then upon compression you can specify a frame size with a true aspect ratio of 16:9. that way it won't show up as a quicktime window with letterboxing.

Re: 16:9 in camera 'widescreen'

there are at least 6 threads on this, for the definitive answer get barry'd dvx-100 book.

i have the hardware 16:9 anamorphic lens and i have played a little bit with the in camera squeeze and it is handled the same way by premire, in other words it is shot with the pixels being 1.2 vs .9, so the software can't tell the difference between footage shot with the in camera 16:9 and the anamorphic lens.
