16:9 export

i just got adobe premiere today and i tried exporting a test footage but i ran into some problems. i shot in true 16:9 (canon xl2) and and imported into premiere. everything looked fine in the timeline but when i exported using mircrosoft avi, the 16:9 became squished. is there an easy fix for this? the project was 24p widescreen 48

oh im using adobe premiere cs3

If pixel aspect ratio is set to 1.2, your media player may not interpret it properly. You would need to mess with widescreen setting in your player.

Export to square pixel (1.0) with a dimension of 720 x 405 and it should display native 16:9.

There's a bug in Premiere Pro CS3 right now if you try to export DV widescreen to a Quicktime DV file it will try to pillar-box it.

I've submitted a bug report to adobe, but you all should too if you are having the Wrong Aspect ratio issue while trying to render other formats in the Adobe Media Encoder.

I am having the same issue. i am using Premiere Cs3 and shot with an HVX200a Hd footage which is native 16:9. When i output to a avi file it make it 4:3. Anyone know how to fix that?
