I shot a video with a DVX100a in squeeze mode, then edited it in a FCP sequence with the following settings: 720X480 NTSC DV 3:2, NTSC CCIR 601 pixel ratio, anamorphic 16:9
The preview in my FCP Canvas looks fine, but then I want to burn it to DVD, so I export with compressor using the following settings: MPEG-2 6.2Mbps 2-pass, Width and Height: Automatic , Selected: 720 x 480, Pixel aspect ratio: NTSC CCIR 601/DV (16:9)
Then in DVD Studio Pro, I make sure my main menu and my clip settings are set to 16:9 pan-scan, and when I do "simulate" and turn on 16:9 preview mode, everything looks fine. I burn it, play it in my DVD player (on my 4:3 TV) and the image is cropped on the left and right sides, as if the DVD player wouldn't recognize the 4:3 TV and put letter box instead of cropping my image.
Is there something I'm not doing right ?
