15 hours to render?

I've never had to wait this long but I'm asking if this is normal? The total length is almost 2 hours. I'm editing at 2k shot with Red One. I'm basically compressing it to a mp4 for previewing purposes. This is my first time working with Red. Any advice on what I should?

I have an 8 core with 16 gigs of RAM.

Doen't seem out of line for 2k material. Depending on what quality you're making that mp4. I will caveat this by saying I don't work in FCP, but from other 2k stuff I've done, this wouldn't surprise me at all.
 
Yep seems about right, 5 minute 1080p footage with effects has easily taken me about 1 hour to 1 hour and 30 mins. So doing some simple math ( lol ) that seems like excellent speed compared to my system :(
