$14 Steadicam Modification

So i got tired of having to hassle with my steadicam every time I used it. I would have to go and either turn the steadicam or turn the camera to get it screwed in properly. And i added it in about 10 minutes.

The top cap screws into the piece of wood, and the camera screw is about an inch and a half behind that. It seems to be balanced better, and i get smoother shots, plus the weight is distrubuted more evenly and there is less stress on the tripod mount.

Haha yeah those grips are from a Razor.

if this is the same one made by johnny lee...i put a flange on top, attached a "platform", and then mounted a tripod base plate to it. so now i attach the camera just like a tripod.

my friend built one of these, it seemd to work alright for slow shots, but the second he had to pick up the pace or do stairs, or changed speed in the slightest, it would wobble and move.

this is something new i see here. Horizontal boom has weight as well. I probably copied it so long ago. I don't have this weight. Does work well? Do i have to upgrade?
