12v Battery Charger for Remote Location???

I'm getting onto a plastic boat in a couple of weeks. The boat runs on wind/solar power and will have no generator on board. I'll be at see for about 4 weeks.

I was talking to the captain today and she told me I need to get a 12 volt DC cigarette-lighter style battery charger to charge my HVX200 batteries. Does anyone know if this exists? Or what it is exactly? I asked her to clarify, but knowledge of voltage/wattage and the like is limited.

Her main reason was that a regular battery charger (thru an inverter or what have you) uses up more (and wastes) more power than it actually needs.

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

I have a Dolgin TC200 dual charger for the HVX batteries and apparently the input is rated for 12 volts dc. I checked the voltage coming out of the ac-dc power supply for this charger and it sends about 15 volts.

You should contact Dolgin and ask them if the thing would charge the HVX batteries if fed only 12 volts, because if so, then all you need is (the TC200) and this: http://jimmmyliu.en.ec21.com/Car_Charger_Cigarette_Lighter_Adapter--3064924_3047319.html

Or the TC200 and this: http://www.globalsources.com/gsol/I/Cigarette-lighter/p/sm/1008485633.htm
