1280x720 stutter

Hello

So I'm trying to output a quicktime for vimeo.

when I output from FCP timeline settings, the file is fine. (24p shot on HVX footage).

I take that file and convert to H264, 4000 data rate, deinterlace, 24fps, AAC, 1280x720HD. and what i get is a file that stutters.. it plays in the right time, just the movement seems to be jerky.

i thought maybe its my computer or something on my end, but when I upload it to vimeo, the stutter/jerkiness remains.

I tried outputting w/o deinterlacing and i get the same thing.

the weird thing is if I output these same settings, except change the size to 640x360, it plays fine. no stuttering.

anyone know what's happening here? is it the data rate? (trying to get a 15min piece under 500 megs)

Do not De-interlace 24p footage. It is progressive. As for the 640x360, versus 1280x720 differences, I am not sure why there is a difference. Please post the answer you find.
