126 LED lights from Hong Kong

Judging by the price, the color temp is probably not correct. Cheap LEDs like this tend to have either a green or magenta color cast, but using a + or - green gel should help correct that problem. If it is your only light source you just have to white balance with it and you should be fine. It is nice that you can use so many different types of rechargeable or AA batteries.

At some point, "cheap" starts to become synonymous with "junk".

If a light puts out a color spectrum that has a pronounced spike in one area (like blue) and you correct it with a gel, then all the other colors are skewed and you still don't have accurate color.

I'm guessing since they don't indicate CRI, then the CRI is very low. Especially if the price is very low.

Yeah, your right. But I was only considering using this camera for things like club videography and the like. I can dial in a colour temperature for the WB on my 7D and 5DmkII, so would that be better than gels to compensate?

I have that light. It does have a green caste that needs filtering to get a reasonable CRI. It might be OK with a "minus green" filter. The features are nice: the battery voltage indicator, and the very flexible powering options (AA cells, Panasonic and Sony battery packs, etc.)

I know that they are extremely reliable, the led's last something like 1500 Hours!

All LEDs generically have a long lifetime, so that is no extra points for this product. There are many more things that comprise reliability than just the life expectancy of the LEDs. The unit is rather lower-end average design and build quality for generic Chinese goods.

Furthermore, mine arrived with the "dimmer knob" fallen off and jammed inside the case. I had to disassemble the light and fasten the knob back on to get it to work.

It is not as rugged as the more expensive commercial products, but its chief shortcoming is the green caste of its light output.

I got a msg from the manufacturer try not to use AA batteries as the dimmer might not work as well. I have not yet to test it =)
