120fps ''NTSC'' vs. Europe 100fps ''PAL'' Broadcast replay concerns (artifacts)

I'm trying to decide which model to get. It is currently very easy to acquire the Panasonic HC-V750 at B&H USA, but it's NTSC. I'm ONLY looking to purchasing this camera for slow motion shots. If B&H had the PAL version I would get the 100fps version. I know that 100fps to 50i or 25p final publish for broadcast plays back just fine, however, would there be any artifacts or concerns with quirky frames if I purchse the 120fps version and final publish the 25p? Sound is not important of course.

Any thoughts?

I'm not sure what your concern is here. You want to shoot this camera strictly for slow motion? Then it doesn't matter what frame rate you'll be playing back in as you're not worried about capturing in that same native frame rate. The only real question is if 120fps is fast enough for what you want to do. Shoot it at 120fps and drop it into the timeline to play at 25fps. 1 second of footage will play back as 4.8 seconds of slow motion.

Hi Andrius, thank you for responding. I'm usually fine with 50p recordings and halfing the speed for a nice 25p slow mo. From what I've been reading, the HC-V750 captures 120 or 100 fps within a 60p or 50p codec. Then in post if let's say in Premiere with my 50p footage I slow down my footage to .25% I'll be watching the 100fps in perfect 25p for my post render. Of course I can set playback settings for realtime monitoring, but my main concern is how some frames might drop or frame blending occuring from an NTSC 120fps to 25p.

Lastly, in case I want to shoot at night or in false light room situations in Europe I might get strobbing from an NTSC hz camera vs a 50hz PAL camera?

Thank you so much.

Going from 120fps to 25p should not be a problem and you will get marginally slower video than from conforming 100fps into 25p. You are correct in that you may run into flicker issues in certain circumstances though. Incandescent lighting over 40 watts or so won't cause any problems but any sort of discharge light with a magnetic ballast will.
