120d and battery requirements?

I realize this has been discussed before, instead of pulling up an old thread I'm starting a new one as I must not understand how to read batteries. I am trying to power an Aputure 120d with a Watson High load(vm-93-hle) 14.8V v-mount battery as soon as I go over 80% the light quickly cuts out and I can't get it to come back on. I thought any v-mount battery over 11V would power the Aputure. What am I missing? How do decipher the proper output of a battery to know if it'll work with the Aputure?

Any advice or battery education would be very appreciated

thanks,

My initial postulation would be that the that the battery doesn't have enough cells wired in parallel to attain the necessary amperage to go beyond 80% brightness, but that shouldn't be the issue if you're using a 15 amp battery. Will the light turn on if you lower the brightness to 50%? Does the light still work on AC power?
