The title says it all. I want to dump my 1080p24fps and 720p60fps footage into a project and have all output to 720p at 24fps. whats the best timeline to pick in CS4.1? I'm assuming it should be a 720p24 project. is this correct? do I have to use a program like cineform to get it all my 1080 files to 720 first?

I'm shooting with a GH1 and I shoot in both 1080 and 720 (1080/24 for 80% of it but for action /slowmo I'm using 720/60 because the GH1 codec for 1080 breaks down with fast moving stuff)

Premeire is strange as it wants you to select a project with a certain timeline/resolution in mind upfront, whereas Vegas, FCP and hell even windows movie maker are timeline /resoultion agnostic. When your ready to output, thats when you select which format you want it to be.

thnaks for any replies!

That is the way I would do it. Of course, there's no 100% correct answer here; there's an argument to be made for using 1080/24p. But I don't think it's the stronger one.

No.

I wouldn't say that's true. Premiere is simply more unambiguous about it at first. With the others, you should still be choosing an appropriate project setting for best results.

You can do the same with Premiere as well.
