1080p

I'm looking at HD options.

1. edit - Has FCP's media management improved ?

2. I'm a little unclear on Blackmagic cards application with this footage.
If you have 8 bit DVC-PRO HD (100) 1080p footage, does the card
decompress the footage to 10 bit, or does the Kona 2 do this ?

3. And as to monitoring, I know you can see 1080i on your Apple Cinema 23"
with the blackmagic card and hd link, but can you also go directly
from the hd link to a HD monitor, to see realtime 1080p or 1080i ?

Sorry if these are redundant questions, but I couldn't tell from the marketing stuff on the companies websites. Thanks :)

Oh, and one more question :

4. Say you shoot 1080p on the HVX200, can you transfer directly into FCP 5 at that resolution ?

There's a site... www.hdforindies.com

Probably have to do some looking around, but it has had tons of info on dvcpro hd.

As far as one thing I'd read, you need the 30" hd screen to fully view 1080, the 23" can only do 720 full screen.

Maybe the answers to those questions are out there, but as far as I know, we'll need to wait until the camera exists(other than mockup) before we know how it will work with Final Cut - which i'm sure it will as panasonic and apple worked 24p together very well.
