1080P over Component?

My friend says its technically not possible to do 1080P over component, i have been under the impression that you can, Some clarification anyone?

1080/24p embedded over 60i can be done, and 1080/30p embedded within 60i can be done.

He's probably referring to frame rates faster than 30p (i.e., 1080/60p). There's no broadcast standard, and probably no analog video transmission standard, for 1080/60p.
