1080i Export - Failure - Need to beef up my PC?

I have a Dell XPS 410 with...

Windows Vista
Intel Core 2 Processor 2.66ghz
3GB memory (actually has more, but the limit of a 32-bit OS)

I run Premiere CS3 with Cineform Aspect HD.

All footage was shot on a XH-A1 at 1080i. Editing on a 24f timeline. Project is 5 minutes with numerous edits and graphics.

I can export 720 just fine. But always get an error when trying to export 1080i. It will export a few seconds of video and then spawn an error message, which varies, but I believe relates to not enough resources (not drive space).

So with the above PC specs, should I be able to export 1080 with my setup? Or what do I need to change? What is the deal with the 32bit OS memory limitations. Do I need do buy a 64bit pro version of Vista?

My ultimate project is going to be an hour long video exported in 1080i. Scratching my head what I need to do to make it happen.

Thanks
Tom

From everything I've read, your hang-ups probably lie in the fact that you're running HDV. It requires a b*tt load of system resources to properly render.

There is a memory switch that can be downloaded from Microsoft (someone's gonna have to help me out with the location... can't remember right now) that will open up your computer to allow you to run a lot more memory than just the 3GBs. Windows can still access only 3GBs, but your programs will have access to the rest of your memory. I would stay away from Vista at all costs if you're doing video--especially if it's HDV video which it is if you're using that Canon camera.
