"1080/25p captured in FCP output for PC use" question

So far I always just avoided doing this and know must face the fact that I actually really don´t know how to do it properly...
The guy doing the postproduction is using PP2.0 and AE(7?) and can´t open the QT files I gave him (granted I´m not really surprised by that, I was just taking chances...)
So he wants a TIFF sequence and a WAV audio file.
When outputting to TIFF via QT comprssion I can´t resize the image, so he´ll get the 1440x1080 of "PAL"/50i HD, right?
And the information that it should stretch to 1920x1080 in playback gets lost, right too?
So how would he setup his projects in PP and AE?
What would be best quality wise?
Is there a better way for outputting this?
Please help me out guys it´s urgent!

PS it´s greenscreen footage, he will pull the keys, so mantaining quality is crucial!

PPS This is a cross post, please excuse!

What's his problem with QT? what compression did you use, why don't you output an animationQT file? (audio is no problem).

Hey,
thanks for the reply!
I captured in DV100 through FCP, but even if I had gone the P2 route he couldn´t have handled MXF files...
Before that, I only knew the company owned a Flame and other nice-to-have gear and they told me they will somehow manage to open it as long as it was a file format, no problem aso...
I did a .tga conversion to all the good takes, leaving everything as is, telling him about DVCproHD and 1440x1080 andthat he´ll have to unsqueeze it - well I hope evrything works out now...

Lesson learned for me is that I´ll dust of our old dual core PC, buy DV Rack or any other standalone capturing tool for PC and use this the next time my spider senses tell me to watch out...

So your spider senses for 'watch out the PC-guy' still exist? Such a rudimentary nerve system -that's left from the old ages- is still working? Good to hear! ;>)

But hey, a Flame on the desk, they have some clients to work for, thats good. The Panasonic DVCproHD / MXF way is not that open with the Flame that is on the market for several years? Anyway, glad to hear that you did what they wanted and now its theirs..

Hehehe,
as for the choice of OS, I actually don´t care, it only gets annoying when things can´t be interchanged...

PC's don't support QuickTime DVCPROHD out of the box. Export as Animation QuickTimes and he'll be able to use them.

Hey guys,
thanks for your help!
I know that QTanimation only applies a light compression,
do you think it´s still ok for keying afterwards?

Well going from DVCproHD to an uncompressed TGA , you also start with a compressed file ( DV100 is). Sure always a good step to go to an intermediate without compression, -like you did- work on the file and go back. I don't think you are able to see the difference though between the uncompressed and minor compressed these days. ProResHQ or QT animation both deliver high standards.
