1080/24p settings

I am running FCP 5.1.1 on a G5. I can't seem to get the right settings for editing what I shoot.

I have an HVX200 and shot some test clips in 1080/24pA. I imported the P2 cards into FCP with the "move duplicate frames" box checked and then used the "Cinema Tools reverse telecine" option in the Tools menu.

I selected the DVCPRO HD 1080i60 preset for the sequence and modified it to give me an editing timebase of 23.98. I also set the resolution to 1280x1080 and selected Anamorphic 16:9. If Anamorphic 16:9 isn't selected the image is squeezed.

If I open the clips in Quicktime Pro before doing anything they look fine. In FCP, if I open the clips in the viewer they also look fine except with "standard " arrangement selected in the Window menu I get a gray bar on either side of the clip, but the clip isn't squeezed in either direction. If I open the clip in the sequence in the Canvas I get the same thing except there are black bars on the left and right side of the image. The image otherwise looks normal and is not squeezed.

After applying some filters I want to export the sequence as a Quicktime movie. Everytime I do so I get a squeezed image with black bars on the left and right sides. Selecting item properties in Quicktime Pro and trying to change the Presentation type does not have any effect. I've tried both FCP internal export and Compressor export and get the same results even when I tell it the original is 16:9 and 1280x1080.

What am I doing wrong? How do I get the images to fill the Viewer and Canvas windows with the bars? How do I export properly so I can view it in Quicktime?
