I render in MPEG2 and author in dvd architect. System will not allow me to burn a 100 min time line. says Im a bit short on disc space

are there other, larger types of discs....dvd-r? or should I render in another format for a smaller file....

Should fit on a dual-layer disc with no problems.

It'll fit on a single-layer disc, too, but you'll have to lower the quality.

After you have set up your DVD Architect project:
1) In DVD Architect go to "File/Optimize Disc"
2) In the dialogue box that opens there is a button "Fit To Disc"
3) Press it
Assuming in your project properties you are set to a disc size of 4.70 GB, sounds like you are.
I would imagine up to 120min should look ok, I know people that squeeze on 4hrs on a 4.7 disc and are happy LOL, I would NOT recommend that much!

I ran into this problem with a different tool a few years back. I wrote to a disk image (.iso), and the image was just a touch bigger than would fit on a DVD. I then used DVDshrink to compress the image down just enough to fit - no loss of quality I could notice.

Chris.

i ended up buying +R dvd's....dual layer...but dvd architect does not seem to acknowledge the disc's extra storage...still says I am using the regular size disc therefore project too large

should I have purchased dvd -R DL?

Go through the properties and make sure you are set up for the right disc type, and dont forget about the"file/optimize disc" menu item when you have selected the proper disc type

thanks...my computer doesnt seem to accept +R DVD's. Strange cause it's a new computer

what company makes -R dual layer? Staples only carries +R
