Hey, kids.

In the spirit of the very informative "Lessons learned in the field..." posts, I thought I'd share two recent blog posts of mine:

These are intended for non-sound folks as well as audio newbies, and were inspired by Mike Curtis' 10 Things Not to Do, over at hdforindies.com.

If you have any constructive criticisms/addenda, please feel free to comment on the posts. I want anyone who reads it to be able to benefit from a broad spectrum of experience.

The problem with commandments is that people can't wait to start breaking them!

I'd move location scouting to number one. Learning to listen doesn't cost anything but some gas and a bit of time. It will also save you mountains of grief in post.

I'd asked why would it be bad to use good mikes, good mixing, and record back into camera. I got a good answer.
