1.6x Tele-Converter Lens Question...

I am looking at this lens:

http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=274298&is=REG

I actually have DVC80s. Are the 80 and 100 designed to handle the extra weight of these lenses in auto mode or manual? Will the 80 accept this or something like it?

Is this good glass?

I've looked at the archives and can't come up with an answer. Are their any specific links for lists of equipment that will work with thses cams?

TIA
Laura :)

That lens will work fine with the DVC80. It's actually "bayonet-mount" instead of thread-mount, so it uses the stronger bayonet instead of the weaker lens threads to mount.

century glass is excellent. i have a few of their lenses now. I like the bayonet mount A LOT.

as for the tele-converter--I have wavered on that because I'm not sure the benefit of having it measures up to the cost. I won't get any extra jobs because I have the lens. The cost of the lens, as you know, is nearing the price of some lower grade 3-chip cameras coming out this fall. if you do get it, let us know if it was worth it!
